‘Twilight’ news round-up: screenwriter, ‘New Moon’ soundtrack, behind-the-scenes, and interviews

"There has been a great deal of news today, so here is a summation of the storylines popping up on the web.

Firstly, Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg gave a great interview with Gregory Ellwood at HitFix. Like most of his interviews recently, it is a thorough piece with an exciting amount of revelation about Rosenberg’s “processes.” Discussing everything from the status of Eclipse in script, Rosenberg’s relationships with the changing directors, fan expectations, to the difficulty of each piece, the interview is a stellar piece of insight into Rosenberg’s work in penning the Twilight saga screenplays.

Speaking of the screenplay for Eclipse, director David Slade recently tweeted about the status of the third screenplay and stated he was “Reading Stephenie's notes on latest script draft, we are in very good shape.”

Death Cab For Cutie has been said to be “contribut[ing] a brand new song to the soundtrack to the upcoming film [The Twilight Saga: New Moon]. The track will arrive in August, while the soundtrack itself will be out later this year.” This comes from FMQB, and it means that we should be seeing a song from the soundtrack before it ever reaches the stores! See here for more details.

Rotten Tomatoes revealed the second portion of its behind-the-scenes look at The Twilight Saga: New Moon and revealed more details about the Volturi sequences we got to see earlier this week.

Said RT,

In the middle of the Volturi chamber, the scenario was similar to the previous day: Bella (Kristen Stewart), Edward [(Robert Pattinson)], and Alice (Ashley Greene) stood facing off against their Volturi hosts, Aro (Michael Sheen), Jane (Dakota Fanning), and Alec (Cameron Bright). In the scene, Edward rushes forward to stop Aro from "testing" vampire powers on Bella, only to suffer the crippling pain of Jane's power. It was a tough scene; the set was eerily quiet, save for the sound of Pattinson's body hitting the ground with every take.

Also, Fandango revealed its interview with New Moon and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows (Part I and Part II) star Jamie Campbell Bower. Bower talked about his new fame, his band The Darling Buds, and his experience in working on New Moon. Particularly interesting is Bower’s appreciation for his character Caius’ style. You can read that interview here.

Finally, the Movie Fanatic has presented a very thorough and interesting account of the situation with Robert Pattinson and pop media. You can read and respond here."
